The Four People Types: Part S
“Similar to other people, I present several different personas – versions of the self – that I turn to, to relate with and interact with other people. My real self, a doubtful and cynical self, remains mostly hidden – a frightening secret – from the world.”
― Kilroy J. Oldster, Dead Toad Scrolls
Some people go through life masking who they are to survive their experiences. Through a behavioral assessment, these are S’s on the DISC or R’s on the TARP. Steadiness and patience are what drive these people. Others may describe them as stress-free or laid back; these are the people who hold their cards close and mask their true self.
In a team dynamic, they are the glue that holds the team together. They are selfless and supportive with a calm demeanor. Their strength lies in their ability to respond to situations without being emotionally charged. However, without the approval of others, they will be slow to act.
Do you know someone who’s an S? How would you describe them?
If you are managing teams, knowing the different types can improve the team dynamic and improve the overall success rate of the project.
